Hey Sheikhs fans!
The Sheikhs are brimming with excitement to be headlining the Retro Festival in Newark this year. Come to Newark Showground in Notts on 10th June to see us do our thing. We’ll be on at 9:30pm in the Spitfire Pavilion.
We’ll have a few smart new arrangements and clean, ironed pants.

Holy sweet mama! What’s this?

Has the devil himself entered the house of the Lord, and sent, higgledy piggledy, this way and that, through the very air, all of our musical instruments?

How shall we play own inimitable vintage jazz renditions of your modern popular music, now that the very objects we need to translate our souls into music, have been abducted by poltergeist or fiend? What of the weddings and corporate events? The festivals bereft of quality, vintage jazz? The what of those empty ears, eager to be filled with the danger and poetry of the Black Sheikhs, in public houses and private homes, all across England and her sister lands? How shall we cope?

Don’t fret, folks!! All is well! For it is mere trickery!! Tomfoolery and japes! I shan’t reveal our conjuring techniques, suffice to say it isn’t just a trick of photograph shop. Here are a few shots of the chaps looking bewildered.

What a splendid evening it turned out to be at Carlton Towers last Saturday!
The chaps and lassies all turned out in smart clothing to celebrate the wedding of Micheal and Ruth Wilkinson. They hired out the most audacious building for the event, not to mention the most fabulous band to play swinging jazz style pop tunes with a twist of cheese!
Here we are at the fabulous Carlton Towers in Northumberland – a long way from our home in Yorkshire. I haven’t been there since Uncle Curly had to sell it off to settle a rather overgrown tax bill!
